UPPSSC PET (Physical Efficiency Test) is conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission for the recruitment of Physical Education Teachers in the state. The PET exam is the second stage of the recruitment process and is conducted to test the physical fitness and agility of the candidates.
Exam Pattern for UPPSSC PET
The UPPSSC PET exam consists of three events – running, shot put and long jump. All the events are conducted on the same day and the marks are awarded on the basis of performance in each event. The exam is conducted in a single shift and the total duration of the exam is two hours.
Components of the Exam
The running event consists of a 2.4 km race which has to be completed within 12 minutes. The marks are awarded on the basis of the time taken to complete the race. The shot put event requires the candidates to throw a shot put of 4 kgs as far as possible. The marks are awarded on the basis of the distance covered by the shot put. The long jump event requires the candidates to jump as far as possible. The marks are awarded on the basis of the distance covered by the jump.
