The National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) released the results of the 2016 UP examinations on its official website. This year, a total of 1,56,932 candidates appeared for the exams and the overall pass percentage was 50.9%.
Exam Details
The NCVT exams are conducted for the students of diploma and ITI courses in UP. This year, the examinations were conducted from 15th August to 5th September 2016 in various centres across the state.
Results
The results of the exams were announced on 15th October 2016. A total of 1,56,932 students appeared for the exams and the overall pass percentage was 50.9%. Out of these, 1,25,069 students passed the exams and 31,863 students failed.
The pass percentage of the diploma courses was higher than that of the ITI courses. The pass percentage of the diploma courses was 53.1% while that of the ITI courses was 45.4%.
Merit List
The merit list of the exams has also been released by the NCVT. The top three scorers in the merit list are:
- Aditya Choudhary with a score of 94.09%
- Ankit Kumar with a score of 92.71%
- Akash Kumar with a score of 91.86%

As per the announcement, this year over 6.7 lakh learners appeared for the exams conducted by the National Council, and the overall pass percentage is an all-time high crossing 85%. The Council has also released the merit list for the top 10 and top 25 students, who have scored an impressive performance across all disciplines. The Secretary of the Ministry expressed his appreciation for the students and said that he hopes that the passing out students from NCVT will steer the industrial growth in India.
