The National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) recently announced the results for the ITI exam conducted in the state of Karnataka. The results of the Secondary and State Level examinations for the academic year 2015 were released on March 23, 2016, and were made available on the official website of the National Council for Vocational Training.
More than 17,000 students had registered for the ITI exams in the state. The exams were conducted in all major cities of Karnataka from October 22, 2015 – December 15, 2015. This year the top 3 performing government ITIs in the state include: Belgaum ITI, Government ITI Udupi, and Government ITI Bangalore.
The total pass percentage for the secondary and state-level ITI examinations was 72.5%. The results revealed that girls performed better than boys with 81.2% pass percentage. About 68.8% boys passed the exams. Belgaum ITI bagged the first position with 90.17% pass percentage. Government ITI Udupi secured second position with 88.87% pass percentage and Government ITI Bangalore stood third with 88.2%.
The state-level board exam also saw an overall pass percentage of 75%. However, the pass percentage for male candidates was lower than females (68.9% – 79.91%). Out of the total 97 ITIs that had registered for the exams, 65 government ITIs and 5 private ITIs were ranked among the top 10 performing ITIs in the state of Karnataka.
This year’s ITI result has been the best in the last five years. The Education Minister of Karnataka has appreciated the achievements of all the students and had asserted that the result was due to the hard work and commitment of the students along with the constant support of the teachers and parents.
