The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the results of the term 1 exams for Class 10 students. This marks the beginning of a new academic year for the students, and the results are a good indicator of how well they have performed in the first round of examinations.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the results of class 10 term 1 examination on November 15, 2020. The CBSE class 10 term 1 examination was conducted from August 1 to September 15, 2020, covering topics from the class 10 syllabus. A total of 10,22,229 students appeared for the examination this year and the overall pass percentage was 93.62%.
This year the passing percentages of students in both the states and union territories were higher than those of previous years. The exam results were also declared faster with the results being declared in a record time of 75 days instead of the usual 90 days.
The highest pass percentage in the examination was recorded in Chandigarh with 97.67%, while the lowest pass percentage was recorded in Maharashtra with 90.66%. Apart from this, Delhi, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka also had an impressive pass percentage of 93.19%, 92.75% and 91.15% respectively.
Moreover, a total of 272 students have scored 10 CGPA in the exam, with boys and girls almost equally scoring 10 CGPA. Trivandrum region of the board has achieved the highest success rate of 99.32%, followed by Ajmer region with 97.16%, Panchkula region with 97.07% and Guwahati region with 95.91%.
The examinations for class 10 in CBSE have been conducted in a much safer and secure environment this year. This year’s successful students prove that quality education can be attained using digital methods too.
The Board has established a continuous assessment scheme with terms 1 to 4 tests and a final exam. This assessment scheme is devised to measure the overall performance of the students and identify potential gaps in their learning. It is to ensure that no student is left behind while they are preparing for the next class.
