    The RRB NTPC Result Kolkata 2016 was announced in February 2016. This was the first time that the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) had conducted the Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) examination in Kolkata. The exam had been conducted for the recruitment of various posts in the railway department. The results of the exam were eagerly awaited by the candidates who had applied for the posts.

The exam was conducted from January 2nd to January 31st, 2016. The total number of candidates who had applied for the posts was around 1.25 lakhs. The candidates had been shortlisted for various categories such as Goods Guard, Traffic Apprentice, Commercial Apprentice, Enquiry-Cum-Reservation Clerk, Junior Accounts Assistant-Cum-Typist, Senior Clerk-Cum-Typist, and Traffic Assistant.

    Analyzing the Results

    The RRB NTPC Result Kolkata 2016 was declared after the completion of the exam. The results were declared on the basis of the marks obtained by the candidates in the written examination. The overall pass percentage of the exam was around 80%. The cut-off marks for the various categories were also announced by the RRB. The cut-off marks were based on the number of candidates who had appeared for the exam and the number of vacancies available.

    The Railway Recruitment Board of Kolkata released the results of the Non-Technical Popular Categories (RRB NTPC) Exam held between 28th March and 30th April, 2016. After months of anticipation, the results were finally released today.

    The RRB NTPC Exam was conducted to fill up numerous vacancies within the Indian Railways. After the results were released in the form of a PDF containing the roll numbers of the successful candidates, the next step was to ascertain the cut off marks as well as category-wise vacancies.

    The cut off marks were set at 96.88 for the unreserved category, 89.71 for the OBC candidates and for the SC/ST candidates the cut off marks was set at 78.22. This cut off marks is applicable to all the zones across the nation such as Bangalore, Secunderabad, Bilaspur, Kolkata and so on.

    The list that was made public on-line also contains the number of vacancies available in each category. A total of 70 vacancies were found to exist for the unreserved, 39 for the OBC and 32 for the SC/ST category.

    This exam is conducted for posts such as goods guard, assistant station master and other such related non-technical posts. After the release of the results all the candidates who were successful in the examinations, are now eagerly awaiting the release of their call letters. The regional railway board has not yet made the call letter available, but it is expected that they will soon do so.

    All the candidates who have cleared the RRB NTPC exam can expect their call letters to arrive in a week’s time. As we await their arrival, all those who have made it can bask in the glory of their success. The excellent results of Kolkata constitute proof of yet another batch of competent candidates entering the Indian Railway. In the months and years to come, they shall be more than adequately prepared to make their contributions to the development of the Indian Railways.
